I messed up my iMac by thinking it would be easy to swap out my hard drive for an SSD. Everything went well, until it didn't… My display stopped working and the hard drive wasn't detected.

Great service, very knowledgable, has kept me and my family from wasting money on waisted repairs and sold us used computers which have and are still serving us well. When I’m in a computer pinch, craig is the first person I go to.

These guys are great. I brought them a laptop with a broken power button (which wouldn’t turn on). They figured out the problem (which was something else) and fixed it promptly, and for a very fair fee that was much less than buying a new laptop.

They are located in Mount Vernon but don’t let that scare you if you are in Arlington – they also do house calls.

They provide a six-month warranty on any repair.

They fix any desktop or laptop, including Macs. They can open the case, figure it out, and fix it (including repairs that involve soldering). Their affiliate, Orlogic Repairs, does logic board repairs.

If your laptop RAM or storage is upgradable, they also do that.

TopTech also has used laptops (Mac and PC), which also have a 6-month warranty. Unlike the used laptops on eBay, Amazon Warehouse or Craigslist, with these laptops you know what you are getting and there is someone who will fix it for free if there are problems.

I was in search of hard drive rails that would fit my custom PC and hold my hard drive in place. Though they didn't have them (they don't seem to be available anywhere), the gentleman brainstormed different solutions and suggestions and presented an alternative solution using screws, which although the original intention couldn't work, I was able to use those screws in a different manner to secure my hard drive. So ultimately, problem solved! Great service.

A little unusual setting, but very knowledgeable, straightforward, and helpful. Price was reasonable. The only problem was the repair did not hold and the laptop hinge popped after two days.

Craig diagnosed my MacBook Air free of charge and once the issues had been explained to me, he then let me know all of my options for repair. Because my computer was already several years old, I had some questions about repairing it versus replacing it with a new one. Craig helped me weigh my options, and ultimately we decided to switch my hard drive into a used MacBook Air of the same year that he had in the shop. At no point during this process did I feel as though his primary interest was to get money out of me. I would recommend them to anyone in need of a computer repair!

These folks are amazing. I have used him in the past to fix my computer, which he did and he made it better than it was before I took it to him. I recently purchased a computer from him and got such a great deal. They are very knowledgeable and explain things on a level I can understand. Definitely would recommend the Eldest Geek. I actually gave Mr. Baker a two fold project – transfer files from my old laptop to a new laptop then also try to fix the old laptop with the cooling fan error. I couldn’t get the old computer to move past the error message – it would just shut down. I needed the files to work on my college course. Even though it was New Year’s Day, Mr. Baker made himself available to transfer the files within an hour of dropping it off. He communicated throughout the process. He also suggested a better virus protection and loaded it up. Currently he is assessing the status of the old lap and preparing the free estimate on the repair costs.

MacBookPro was unresponsive. They installed a new battery at a very reasonable price and were extremely knowledgeable and pleasant. I highly recommend them. .

Craig was amazing. Quality work and quick! I will be taking all of my computers to him when they need fixing. He really knows computers! I have a macbook air and the screen was completely removed from the keyboard. He was able to fix it the same day and it works it perfectly now! His prices are also extremely reasonable. Craig did an excellent job diagnosing the issue – when my computer proved not to be worth fixing, he sold me a better used one for cheap, and spent hours setting it up and transferring over my data for no extra charge! Would highly recommend.

Craig fixed my MacBook Pro after it sustained water damage. My screen’s backlight was not working and he replaced the logic board and had it back to me within a week, and charged a reasonable price – much less than Apple. Also, Craig is the only person I found that can do hardware in the entire D.C. area. The trip from Foggy Bottom to Alexandria was worth it. This place is in an antique mall, so my expectation of a hi tech atmosphere were put to the test.

That said, these folks did exactly what they said they were going to do and did not charge me an arm and a leg. They even found an oddball issue with my computer and fixed that for free.

I've been there a few times now and can say that they are honest and knowledgeable. I've never gone away feeling like I'd been ripped off (which I cannot say about a certain big box extablishment that took me for $300+).

I am a small business owner and had some trouble with my main computer at work and I was going to miss payroll for my staff as well as not be able to fill a customer's order and Craig and his team saved the day!
